If the hood cannot be opened by operating the hood latch release, check the release cable. During vehicle assembly, the cable retaining clip can be damaged, allowing the cable end to dislodge from the latch lever.

To service, install an E1FZ-9D726-A clip (Figure 2) to the cable/latch assembly.
