HEATER - EXCESSIVE AIR VELOCITY ON DRIVER'S LEG


FORD 1982-83 FORD CROWN VICTORIA

LINCOLN-MERCURY 1983 LINCOLN TOWN CAR, MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS Excessive air velocity on driver's leg may generate a customer concern. A diverter can be fabricated and installed on the floor duct to direct air away from flowing directly on the driver's leg.

Modification:

1. Construct a sheet metal diverter from 1/64"-1/16" sheet metal using dimensions in Figure 10. (Figure 10 can be used as a template).
2. Bend the diverter into a 90~ angle at the bend line by lifting upward on the left edge while retaining the diverter down with a straight edge on the bend line.

3. Using black duct tape, install the diverter into the left floor outlet (Figure 11).
4. When taping the diverter in place, be certain not to tape over the bottom of outlet. This service does not require the removal of the floor duct.
