1. Refer to Exhibit I.

Disconnect the vacuum hose at the air control side of the combination air bypass and air control valve, and plug the hose with a vacuum connector (part number 383003-S) and a vacuum cap (part number 382444-S).

2. Remove the vacuum hose at the EGR valve and install a 3-way tee (part number 373846-S) and a 3-inch length of vacuum hose (part number D0PZ-12226-B). Attach the 3-inch length of hose to the EGR valve.

3. Install vacuum delay valve (part number D3DZ-12A091-B) between the 3-way tee and the open port on the combination air bypass and air control valve. Use two 9-inch lengths of vacuum hose (part number D0PZ-12226-B). Attach one length to the open port on the 3-way tee and one length to the open port on the combination air bypass and air control valve. ASSURE THAT THE "BLACK" SIDE OF THE DELAY VALVE IS POSITIONED TOWARD THE VACUUM SOURCE.

4. If the vehicle is equipped with a manual transmission, remove both large diameter outlet hoses on the combination air bypass and air control valve, reverse the hose locations and reinstall the hoses.




5. Affix a new Vehicle Emission Control Information (VECI) decal over the existing decal. Verify that the vehicle identification number (VIN) printed on the decal matches that of the vehicle. Use the following information to verify that the decal matches the engine and calibration codes.

6. Refer to Exhibit II. Prepare an Authorized Modifications decal (Form FPS-8262) as shown. Affix the decal to a flat clean surface on the radiator support.
