Some May, 1983 built cars may exhibit engine miss, erratic operation (EFI not included) due to certain Thick Film Ignition (T.F.I.) modules. These modules can be identified as follows:
1. Check vehicle build date. The date stamp is either at the left or right side of the radiator support near the hood bumper or on the top surface of the left hand shock tower. If the build date is from May 2, 1983 through May 26, 1983, proceed to step 2. IF the date is outside this period, proceed with normal service diagnostic procedures.
