Some vehicles built between March 1, 1983 and April 30, 1983 could exhibit vehicle shake/vibration due to incorrect wheel to tire indexing. This article outlines the procedure to service the vehicle shake condition.
1. Mark all four tire and wheel assemblies with chalk or a grease pencil in the bead area.
2. The tires should then be deflated and tire beads broken loose from the rims.
3. Using the tire/wheel marking, rotate the tire clockwise 90 degrees from the wheel mark.
4. Reinflate tires to proper pressure.
5. Rebalance all four tire/wheel assemblies.
If further service is required, refer to the Tire/Wheel Service Procedure, TSB Article No. 82-16-8.
