BUMPER FRONT - STONE DEFLECTOR BUCKLING

Subject vehicles built prior to 9/15/82 subjected to a hot environment may exhibit buckling or distortion on the upper surface of the stone deflector. This concern is caused by the attaching screws (washer head shoulder) tightly clamping the deflector and restricting movement when heat expansion occurs.

To service this condition replace the (7) attaching screws, as shown in Figure 1, with new longer shoulder screws (389727-S36B). In an extreme case it may be necessary to replace the deflector.
