Service Action 92S46 - 1984/1985 Ford Mustang and Mercury Capri Seat Belt Tongue Assembly - Plastic Sleeve Replacement

OASIS - Yes
OWNER LIST - No
PARTS RETURN - No
PROGRAM TIMING - Unlimited

AFFECTED VEHICLES:
All 1984-1985 Model Year Ford Mustang and Mercury Capri vehicles built from September 9, 1983 through August 7, 1985.

REASONS FOR THIS PROGRAM
The stowed position of the front seat belts may expose the tongue/sleeve assembly to direct sunlight. After prolonged exposure to the sunlight, the white plastic sleeve that retains the lock bar in the tongue assembly may break apart. This can result in the lock bar falling out and the seat belt tongue becoming detached from the seat belt webbing. Should this occur, the seat occupant would be unable to use the seat belt. This program provides for no cost replacement of deteriorated white plastic sleeves during the life of the vehicle.

REFUNDS
Only for owner-paid repairs made before date of Owner Letter.
