A/T - AOD Rough 1-2 Shift After Overhaul

SUBJECT: FORD AOD

COMPLAINT: Rough 1-2 shift, after overhaul, or valve body re-assembly

POSSIBLE CAUSE:
1-2 capacity modulator valve spring not seated into the valve bore. If the spring catches on the valve edge, instead of going into the bore, it will hinder, or restrict valve movement.




SOLUTION:
During assembly, install spring and valve into valve body. Using a small screw driver, or pick, cycle valve by hand and check for full travel.
