84ford20Article No. 84-2-11
HESITATION/SURGE - 5.0L CFI
FORD 1984 CROWN VICTORIA - 5.0L - C.F.I.
LINCOLN-MERCURY 1984 GRAND MARQUIS - 5.0L - C.F.I.
CALIBRATIONS: All 5.0L - C.F.I. assembled St. Louis before 8/18/83
Some 1984 vehicles built prior to August 18, 1983 at the St. Louis Assembly Plant may have been built without the gasket for the EEC IV processor to wire harness connector. Moisture can enter the processor and eventually lead to driveability concerns of "stumble and surge." This concern is likely to occur at higher mileages (beyond 12,000 miles).
