Dealer installed A/C engine components kit E4FZ- 19B969-A installed in 1984 Escort/Lynx/EXP have had instances of the compressor mounting bracket breaking in the area of the alternator adjusting arm attachment.
A new engine components kit E4FZ-19C969-A has been released to prevent compressor mounting bracket breakage. Also included in the kit will be the necessary installation instructions and illustrations. This service fix kit will replace the following compressor and alternator mounting brackets from the 1984 engine components kit E4FZ-19B969-A.

NOTE: When installing this new kit, it is not necessary to evacuate and recharge the A/C system. The compressor mounting bracket is accessible by setting aside the compressor with the suction and discharge hoses attached.
