This article outlines a service procedure for rear suspension noise. This clunk noise is most noticeable when going over a large bump or pothole at slow speeds.

1. Check the rear suspension fastener torque to the following specifications:

2. If noise appears to be coming from the rear shock upper attachment area, install a new upper mount kit (Part No. E4FZ-18198-A). The upper mounting has been revised to provide additional clearance to the shock tower (Figure 17).
