To correct a rough idle condition follow normal adjusting procedures displayed on the Emissions Decal. If the vehicle build date is between 2/13/84 and approximately 3/5/84 the dashpot mounting bracket hold down screw may not permit enough adjustment to raise the curb idle to specifications. The following procedure should be performed:
1. Back the dashpot bracket adjustment off (lower idle speed).

2. Remove the dashpot bracket hold down screw which causes the interference (Figure 14) and discard.
3. Proceed with the normal curb idle adjustment procedures to set curb idle to specifications.
