On some 1984 Tempo/Topaz, the bright beads on the instrument cluster finish panel may exhibit a blister/peel
condition under high temperature environmental conditions. To service, replace the instrument cluster finish panel with one identified by the letter "B" adjacent to the cavity number moulded into the back side of the part. See Figure 1 for detail. All service parts have been purged at the P.D.C.'s so that only parts identified by the letter "B" (improved version) will be available for service.
To replace the instrument panel-cluster finish panel:

1. Remove the steering column cover (2) screws and snap steering column cover out.
2. Remove (8) instrument cluster finish panel retaining screws and radio knobs and remove finish panel.
3. Position new finish panel to cluster and install (8) retaining screws and install radio knobs.
4. Position steering column cover to finish panel and column and install (2) retaining screws.
