High accelerator pedal efforts may be caused by corroded and/or dirty throttle linkages. To correct this, use the following cleaning/lubrication procedure.
Figure 20:
1. Spray the control lever, the cam reel, and the cold start device (CSD) linkages, bushings and springs with "Rust Penetrant and Inhibitor" (D7AZ- 19A501-A). Refer to Figure 20.
2. Allow a few minutes for the "Rust Penetrant and Inhibitor" to penetrate and clean.
3. While moving linkages by hand, spray with Rust Penetrant and Inhibitor again.
4. Dry the parts (linkages, etc.) with compressed air.
5. Apply "Dry Film Lubricant" (E2SZ-19553-A) to the control lever, the cam reel, and CSD linkages, bushings and springs. Follow the directions on the container label.
