A source of dynamic water leaks that shows up as wet carpeting is the body side seam at the upper cowl end. This location is extremely difficult to find because it is hidden by the shock tower support extension coming off the front door hinge pillar. The following procedure describes how to locate this type leak.

1. Remove the front fender.
2. Spray water along right (or left) front fender to hood line toward windshield in the area of the cowl seams.
3. By feel locate and seal the seams under the fender to shock tower extension.
4. Recheck for leaks.
5. Replace front fender.
