A "boom" noise may emanate from inside the body when the rear door is slammed shut. To service this concern, add an "overslam" bumper to the quarter panel lower lock pillar above the striker as shown on Figure 1, one each side.

For adding "overslam" bumper to quarter lock pillar.

1. Rework lower quarter lock pillar by drilling (1) 6.5 mm (.25") diameter hole per side using locating dimensions shown in Figure 1.
2. Touch up drilled hole with enamel paint to prevent corrosion.
3. Insert one 378744-S rubber bumper into drilled hole after paint has dried.
