Oil Pan -Removal
1. Open hood.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Raise vehicle.
4. Drain oil.
5. Remove the bolts securing the rear oil pan to the tranaxle base.
6. Remove the thermactor tubes (MTA) and disconnect the rubber hose at the check valve.
7. Remove the starter motor.
8. Drain coolant.
9. Remove the heater supply tube located at the lower water pump inlet tube assembly.
10. Remove the bolt bracket at the block and water pump inlet tube assembly.
11. Remove the bracket from the air conditioning compressor line and the water pump inlet tube to the pan bottom.
12. Remove the two (2) bolts that secure the air conditioning compressor line and the water pump inlet tube to the pan bottom.
13. Remove the oil pan bolts.

14. Loosen oil pan (See tabs in Figure 2).
15. Gently position or flex rear engine cover toward torque convertor enough to clear lip on the upper rear of the oil pan and remove oil pan.
16. Lower vehicle.
NOTE: THIS PROCEDURE MUST BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH ALL REPAIRS BEING MADE PER TSB ARTICLE 91-13-7.
