CALIBRATIONS: All (P/N Revised) Subject vehicles assembled without a starter relay diode may have a rough engine idle and stalling condition. Condition can be serviced by installing a service diode assembly.

The symptom occurs intermittently and will usually disappear when the vehicle is restarted. For subject vehicles built prior to September 1, 1983, install a service diode harness assembly (E0VY-11A001-A) in series with the # 32 start circuit at the starter relay, as shown in Figure 9.
Obtain an Authorized Modifications decal and list the date, dealer number and summary of alterations performed. Select a prominent place adjacent to the Vehicle Emission Control Information decal suitable for installing the Authorized Modifications decal. Clean the area, install the decal and cover it with a clear plastic decal shield.
