AIR CONDITIONING - DEALER INSTALLED - 2.3L EFI TURBO - FAST IDLE, ELECTRIC FAN AND COMPRESSOR KIT INFORMATION

FORD 1985 THUNDERBIRD, MUSTANG

LINCOLN-MERCURY 1985 COUGAR, CAPRI

When installing Dealer Air Conditioning on 1985 TBird/Cougar, Mustang/Capri 2.3L EFI Turbos, the following instructions will tie in the fast idle, electric cooling fan and compressor clutch systems. This supersedes instructions included in the basis (19B968) and engine (19B969) kits.

T-Bird/Cougar

^ Locate the PINK/LIGHT BLUE hash wire, terminal #6, located at the fan controller, near the shake brace, below the steering column (part of the OEM harness).
^ Clip off the female terminal at the end of the DARK BLUE clutch lead. Do not route the DARK BLUE clutch lead through the firewall.
^ Using a 3M connector, splice the OEM PINK/ LIGHT BLUE hash wire to the DARK BLUE A/C clutch lead.
^ Find the OEM compressor clutch connector in front of the RH shock tower and use it for the compressor clutch tie-in. The wire harness included in the compressor clutch kit is not required.

Mustang/Capri

^ Installation is the same as T-Bird/Cougar except the wire at the fan controller is BLACK/YELLOW hash.
^ Approximately February 1985, the vehicle wire harness will change to be the same as T-Bird/ Cougar (PINK/LIGHT BLUE hash).
^ The relay and harness included in the (19B969) engine kit is not required.
