1. Disconnect battery ground cable.






2. Remove three upper retaining screws from instrument cluster trim cover, then the trim cover. (Fig. 9).
3. On Mustang SVO models, remove four screws retaining instrument cluster to instrument panel. Disconnect turbo-boost pressure hose from retaining brace.
4. Remove upper and lower screws retaining instrument cluster to instrument panel.
5. Pull cluster from panel slightly and disconnect speedometer cable and the printed circuit electrical connectors.
6. Remove instrument clusters from instrument panel, (Fig. 4.)
7. Reverse procedure to install.

Installation

1. Apply a 4.6mm (3/16-inch) diameter ball of silicone damping grease in the drive hole of the speedometer head.
2. Connect the two cluster printed circuit connectors to their receptacles in the cluster backplate (Fig. 4).
3. Connect speedometer cable on Mustang SVO, connect turbo boost pressure hose at the shake brace.
4. Position the instrument cluster to the instrument panel and install the four retaining screws.
5. Install three upper retaining screws to instrument cluster trim cover, and install trim cover.
6. Connect the battery ground cable.
