LINCOLN-MERCURY 1985-86 LYNX, CAPRI, MARQUIS, COUGAR, GRAND MARQUIS

MECHANICALLY tuned cassette radios installed in 1985 and early 1986 vehicles may exhibit a condition with the stereo changing to mono and vice versa. This concern results in customer complaints of radio fading, drifting, inconsistent volume, speakers cutting in and out or intermittent operation.

In these cases, the radio should be removed and sent to an authorized FERCO repair station for modification per radio service bulletin No. AR-12-85.
