SERVICE ACTIONS 92S46Seat Belt Tongue Plastic Sleeve Replacement
TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS
INSPECTION
SEAT BELT TONGUE LOCKING BAR SLEEVE
Inspect the plastic sleeve on both front seat belt tongue assemblies (Refer to instructions for location of plastic sleeve).
If the sleeve is black plastic, no service is required.
If the sleeve is white plastic, install a black plastic sleeve on both front seat tongue assemblies.
If the tongue locking bar is missing, replace the tongue assembly with Safety Belt Tongue Service Kit Part No. E4ZZ-61610D94-A (package of 1, two (2) are required per vehicle). Follow the instruction sheet included in the kit.
If the tongue has a metal locking bar with a crosshatch patterned surface - no action is required. Refer to Figure 3, View A.
If the tongue has a metal locking bar without a crosshatch patterned surface and no plastic sleeve, install the black plastic sleeve included in the kit.
NOTE:
If the tongue cover is broken or missing, install a new tongue cover (E7FZ-61612A64-A).
Refer to the attachment for removal and installation of the plastic sleeve.
