ISSUE: The finish panel insert may peel away from the center finish panel causing the edges of the insert to raise above the normal surface. Poor bonding between the finish panel and insert may cause this.

1985-86 THUNDERBIRD/COUGAR:

ACTION: A new design insert (6304722) with five locking tabs for better retention and a new design center finish panel (63044E50) with five slots should be installed as outlined in the appropriate Car Shop Manual. Refer to the chart on page 13 for the correct service parts.
