Low Fuel Warning Lamp - Comes On Prematurely

Some subject vehicles, with build dates listed below, may have a low fuel level warning lamp that comes on prematurely. These vehicles show a low fuel level indication at approximately 1/4 of a tank, rather than at 1/8 tank.

If complaints of premature low fuel warning lamp illumination are received, check for the proper electronic low fuel warning module (ELFW) installation (located behind the glove box).

The following chart indicates the affected vehicle build dates and the proper part number.
