Figure 1:

FOR KIT CODE A VEHICLES WITH CALIBRATION CODE 4-03A-R00, 4-03A-R10, OR 4-03K-R00/R10. USE THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS TO PERFORM THE EMISSIONS CONTROL MODIFICATIONS:

NOTE: REFER TO THE ABOVE SCHEMATIC DRAWING AND MATCH THE NUMBERED STEPS WITH THE FOLLOWING NUMBERED STEPS. THIS SCHEMATIC DRAWING IS REPRESENTATIVE OF THE CALIBRATION CONFIGURATIONS FOR KIT CODE A VEHICLES.

1) Install a D3AZ-12AO91-A vacuum delay valve (# 10, yellow/black) in the vacuum hose connected to the air control side of the combination air bypass and air control valve using a 2-inch length of DOPZ-12226-B vacuum hose (5/32" ID). The "black" side of the delay valve must be positioned toward the vacuum source.

2) Install a D3DZ-12AO91-B vacuum delay valve (# 2, brown/black) in the vacuum hose connected to the distributor vacuum diaphragm using a 2-inch length of DOPZ-12226-B vacuum hose (5/32" ID) . The "black" side of the delay valve must be positioned toward the vacuum source.

3) Readjust the carburetor dashpot setting to 1 mm (The current specification is 4 mm.)

Figure 1:

4) Refer to Figure 1. Mark the existing Vehicle Emission Control Information (VECI) decal using a "Sharpie" or similar type pen to show addition of the two vacuum delay valves.

5) Refer to Exhibit 1. Prepare and install Authorized Modifications Decal for Kit A vehicles.

FIGURE 2:

FOR KIT CODE B VEHICLES WITH CALIBRATION 4-03F-R00 USE THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS TO PERFORM THE EMISSIONS CONTROL MODIFICATIONS:
NOTE: REFER TO THE ABOVE SCHEMATIC DRAWING AND MATCH THE NUMBERED STEPS WITH THE FOLLOWING NUMBERED STEPS. THIS SCHEMATIC DRAWING IS REPRESENTATIVE OF THE CALIBRATION CONFIGURATIONS FOR KIT CODE B VEHICLES.

1) Install a D3AZ-12A091-A vacuum delay valve (# 10, yellow/black) in the vacuum hose connected to the air control side of the combination air bypass and air control valve using a 2-inch length of DOPZ-12226-B vacuum hose (5/32" ID). The "black" side of the delay valve must be positioned toward the vacuum source.

2) Install a D3DZ-12A091-B vacuum delay valve (# 2, brown/black) in the vacuum hose connected to the distributor vacuum diaphragm using a 2-inch length of DOPZ-12226-B vacuum hose (5/32" ID). The "black side" of the delay valve must be positioned toward the vacuum source.

FIGURE 2:

3) Refer to Figure 2. Mark the existing Vehicle Emission Control Information (VECI) decal using a "Sharpie" or similar type pen to show the addition of the two vacuum delay valves.

4) Refer to Exhibit 1. Prepare and install Authorized Modifications decal for Kit B vehicles.

FIGURE 3:

FOR KIT CODE C VEHICLES WITH CALIBRATION CODES 4-04A-R14 AND 4-04A-R16. USE THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS TO PERFORM THE EMISSIONS CONTROL MODIFICATIONS:
NOTE: REFER TO THE ABOVE SCHEMATIC DRAWING AND MATCH THE NUMBERED STEPS WITH THE FOLLOWING NUMBERED STEPS. THIS SCHEMATIC DRAWING IS REPRESENTATIVE OF THE CALIBRATION CONFIGURATIONS FOR KIT CODE C VEHICLES.

1) Install a D5TZ-12A091-A vacuum delay valve (# 20, green/black) in the vacuum hose connected to the distributor vacuum diaphragm using a 2-inch length of DOPZ-12226-B vacuum hose (5/32" ID). The "black" side of the delay valve must be positioned toward the vacuum source.

CHANGE THE VACUUM SOURCE FOR THE AIR CONTROL VALVE FROM MANIFOLD TO EGR VACUUM AND INSTALL A VACUUM DELAY VALVE IN THE EGR VACUUM LINE USING THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE:

2) Disconnect the vacuum line from the air control side of the combination air bypass and air control valve, and plug the vacuum line using a 383003-S straight connector (3/16" ports) and a 382444-S vacuum cap (5/32" ID). Disconnect the vacuum line from the EGR valve and connect the vacuum line

FIGURE 3:

to the "black" side of a D3DZ-12A091-B (# 2, brown/black) vacuum delay valve. Install a 2-inch length of DOPZ-12226-B vacuum hose (5/32" ID), a 373846-S 3-way "T" connector (3/16" ports) and an 18-inch length of DOPZ-12226-B vacuum hose (5/32" ID) between the "brown" side of the vacuum delay valve and the open port on the air control valve. Install a 2-inch length of DOPZ-12226-B vacuum hose (5/32" ID) between the open port on the "T" connector and the EGR valve.

3) Refer to Figure 3. Mark the existing Vehicle Emission Control Information (VECI) decal using a "Sharpie" or similar type pen to show the addition of the two vacuum delay valves and the revised vacuum line routing.

4) Refer to Exhibit 1. Prepare and install Authorized Modifications decal for Kit C vehicles.
