A/C - Suction Hose/Wiring Harness Damage

The police package uses the large frame alternator which reduces clearance between the alternator and the routing of the A/C suction hose. The A/C suction hose may rub against the edge of the wiring harness retaining bracket causing possible damage to both the hose assembly and the 14305 wiring harness. Rerouting the wiring harness will correct this condition.
PROCEDURE
1. Remove the wiring harness retaining bracket from the alternator.

2. Pull the steel portion of bracket out of the molded rubber and discard (Figure 4).
3. Install the retaining clip No. 386132-A behind the molded rubber and insert in the existing hole in the alternator (Figure 5).
4. With the retaining clip attached to the alternator, loop the wiring downward under the A/C suction hose.
