TFI/MAP Connectors - No Start Condition

WARNING: This modification is authorized only for the listed engines. Performing this modification on other engine calibrations is unauthorized and could create liability under applicable federal or local laws.
For a "No Start" condition, the following inspection procedure should be performed to insure that the TFI and MAP sensor connectors are not damaged before performing "No Start" diagnostic procedures.
TFI Connector
1. Check to make sure that the TFI connector is fully seated to module (locking fingers completely over ramp).
2. If connector is not fully seated and cannot be seated without excessive force, replace connector.
3. If connector is fully seated, exert a strong pull on each wire. The terminal and wire will pull out of connector if terminal is damaged. If this occurs, replace connector.
NOTE: Steps 1 through 3 will determine if (terminal push-out) condition exists.

4. Check connector to make sure sealing gasket is not missing (see Figure 11). If gasket is not present, the terminals in the connector may be corroded. Replace connector.
NOTE: When gasket is missing, clean terminals on module before installing new connector.

MAP Sensor Connector
1. Check to make sure that the water seal is completely around the outside of the mating connector (see Figure 12).
2. If the water seal is folded under in anyway, replace the connector.
NOTE: When the water seal is folded under it takes on a permanent set and proper sealing is not achieved by repositioning the old connector.
If both of the above connectors check out o.k., perform "No Start" diagnostic procedures.
