Canadian vehicles which stall and do not restart may have a condition where the fuel pump arm is making contact with the cylinder block. The friction results in additional heat being transferred to the fuel pump assembly causing a vapor lock condition. After the condition has been verified and the block inspected to confirm the contact condition, it will be necessary to replace the short block assembly.
NOTE: Chihuahua Engine Plant cylinder blocks which may be affected were assembled up through June 15, 1985. (See Engine Build Tag.)
