NOTE: This article does not apply to engine calibration 5-26R-R01 California (see TSB 85- 5-20), 5-25C-R0 or 5-25P-R0.
Surge while accelerating at speeds above 40 mph can be serviced by removing the fuel distribution plate from the fuel charging assembly.
1. Remove the throttle body assembly and disassemble the air horn from the lower throttle body fuel distribution plate (4 screws).

2. Remove and discard the throttle body fuel distribution plate (Figure 7).
3. Apply several drops of Loctite 290 to the screws prior to reassembly of the throttle body.
