Engine idle stalls that occur when a hot engine is started can be avoided by use of the following procedure:

Drivers reporting hot engine start up idle stalls should be instructed that this condition can be avoided by pressing the accelerator pedal 1/4 to 1/2 way down during the hot start procedure and gradually releasing the pedal as the engine speeds up.
