ISSUE: A "popping" noise from the radio speakers when the power windows are operated may be caused by a voltage spike created by the power window motor when it is cycled.
ACTION: Install a service jumper wire assembly that has a suppression capacitor at each power window motor. Refer to the following procedure for service details.
1. Remove the lower pocket assembly from the door (if pocket assembly cannot be removed separately, as in some late model 1988 vehicles, then the trim panel will have to be removed).
2. Remove the radio speaker grille from the door trim panel.
3. Remove the radio speaker from door.
4. Reach through the speaker hole and locate the power window motor electrical connector.
5. Connect the jumper wire assembly, (E8SZ- 18832-A) to the wire harness between the body wiring connector and the power window motor connector.
6. Wrap the loose end of the connection with a piece of foam tape or other suitable material to keep the connector from rattling inside the door.
7. Reinstall the radio speaker.
8. Reinstall the radio speaker grille.
9. Reinstall all of the trim on the door.
