AMPLIFIER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION PROCEDURE FOR SEDANS ONLY

FORD 1984-86 CROWN VICTORIA

LINCOLN-MERCURY 1984-86 GRAND MARQUIS

The premium sound amplifier removal and installation instructions for 1984-86 Crown Victoria/Grand Marquis (except station wagons) have been revised from the instructions indicated in Section 35-09 of the Shop Manual.

Removal

Figure 9 - REVISED PREMIUM SOUND AMPLIFIER INSTALLATION 1984/86 CROWN VICTORIA, GRAND MARQUIS (EXCEPT STATION WAGON):

Refer to Figure 9.

1. Lift and remove the rear seat cushion.

2. Remove the two seat belt retaining bolts.

3. Lift and remove the rear seat back cushion.

4. Carefully remove the sound insulation material.

5. Remove the two Phillips head attaching screws.

6. Remove the spare tire.

7. Remove the ground wire attaching screw.

8. Disconnect the hardshell connectors and remove the amplifier.
Installation

1. Connect the hardshell connectors to the amplifier.

2. Install the amplifier, using the Phillips head attaching screws.

3. Install the ground wire and attaching screw.

4. Install spare tire.

5. Carefully install the sound insulation material.

6. Install the rear seat back cushion and seat belt retaining bolts.

7. Install the rear seat cushion.
