General Service Tips
An inspection should be made for damaged, distorted, or misaligned weatherstrips around doors and windows. Check for sealer skips in the header joints at the top of all door openings and, in and around the drip rail. Always inspect visible areas for potential leaks, prior to any disassembly of component parts.
1. When the location of the leak has been found, select the proper sealer or adhesive for the repair.
2. Before applying any sealer of adhesive, the repair area must be free of dirt, wax, etc. so that adhesive will stick.
3. Always use clear sealer when the joint or seam is visible to the customer. Clean excess sealer from repaired area for neat appearance at joint or seam.
4. Allow enough time for the adhesive or sealer to dry, then water test to make sure leaking has stopped.
