This article is being republished to properly identify a bad shorting connector ("spout").

Poor driveability ("poor performance") may be caused by the shorting connector sleeve ("spout") (Figure 4). A suspect connector sleeve can be identified by removing the shorting bar from the connector and inspecting it for two thin blade spade type terminals (bright metal). If the (bright metal) on shorting bar was omitted during the manufacturing process, the TFI spark output will not advance.
To correct this, replace it with a new replacement connector sleeve (E53Z-14489-C).
