Ford Motor Company and the Environmental Protection Agency have been jointly working to assure that emissions recall service procedures are completed according to approved instructions. Your Escort, Lynx, or EXP car was recently serviced under a Ford Motor Company emissions recall. We have found that some cars were not correctly serviced under the recall.

We are asking you to contact your Ford or Lincoln-Mercury dealer and arrange to have your car inspected.

What the Dealer Will Do
At no charge to you, your dealer will inspect parts of the emission control system and report the results of the inspection to Ford. If necessary, your car will be serviced according to the instructions provided by Ford.

How Long Will It Take?
The time needed to accomplish this inspection is about one-half hour. However, due to service schedules, your dealer may need your car for one full working day.

Call Your Dealer
Please call your dealer today and ask for a service date. Bring this letter with you when you bring your car in. If you should misplace this letter, your dealer will provide the inspection service free of charge to you.
