This is to advise you of a special Ford Motor Company service program (M66) involving interior leather trim on certain 1985 and 1986-model Merkur XR4Ti cars. Our records indicate that you own the car described below:

REASON FOR THE PROGRAM
Your Merkur XR4Ti may have an interior leather trim condition exhibited by abrasion, hardening, cracking, seam separation or discoloration of the seat, headrest and cushion covers.
WHAT WE WILL DO
If your car's leather interior should have any of the above conditions your Lincoln-Mercury-Merkur dealer will replace these parts. This no charge service is available through March, 1990.
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO
PLEASE RETAIN THIS LETTER. If your Merkur XR4Ti should exhibit the conditions within the indicated time limitation, contact your Lincoln-Mercury-Merkur dealer.
REFUNDS
If you have already had the interior leather trim of your Merkur XR4Ti replaced at your expense prior to the receipt of this notification, Ford will refund you for the cost that you incurred for the parts and labor. Refunds include any deductible amounts you may have paid.
To request a refund, please present your paid repair order or over-the-counter parts purchase receipt to any Lincoln-Mercury-Merkur dealership by June 30, 1989, The dealership will make arrangements to refund you for the repair costs that you incurred.
Ford Motor Company is taking this action as part of its ongoing efforts to maintain owner confidence in its products. We appreciate your purchase of the Merkur XR4Ti and hope that this program serves to assure your continued satisfaction and patronage.

SUBJECT: Owner Notification M66 - Merkur XR4Ti Leather Trim Owner Paid Repair Refund Cut-off Extension To October 31, 1989.
REPAIR REFUND EXTENSION
Since the phased owner mailing took longer than originally anticipated, some owners may not have been afforded an adequate opportunity to request customer paid repair refunds covered by this program prior to the originally published June 30, 1989 cut-off date. In fairness to these owners, the refund request cut-off date is being extended to October 31, 1989.
CONTACT AFFECTED OWNERS
Dealers are requested to contact Merkur XR4Ti owners who may have been adversely impacted by the original refund request cut-off date and advise them of this refund extension.
RESUBMIT REJECTED CLAIMS
Some refund claims submitted after the original cut-off date may have been rejected. These claims should now be resubmitted.
ADVISE AFFECTED PERSONNEL
All sales and service personnel who may have contact with Merkur XR4Ti owners affected by this Owner Notification Program should be made aware of this refund extension.
