Vehicles built before January 31, 1986, that exhibit "palm" denting of the hood frontal surfaces from closing efforts can be serviced only by replacing the hood with new service stock parts. The service stock hoods are of an increased gage thickness and have a new design reinforcement in the latch area. Readjust the hood latch and bumpers to ensure minimum hood latching efforts. Use normal painting procedures for this service repair.
