DRIVESHAFT -REVISED INBOARD C.V. JOINT GREASE FILL REQUIREMENT - SHOP MANUAL REVISION

Figure 14:

The grease fill requirement for tripod inboard C.V. joints of the conventional boot design has been increased from 17O grams to 250 grams. The conventional design can be identified by the crimped metal can boot mounting surface. Refer to Figure 14.
Fill the C.V.joint outer race with 125 grams (4.4 ounces) of grease and also fill the boot with 125 grams (4.4 ounces) of grease. Use Ford High-Temperature Constant Velocity Joint Grease, E43Z-19590-A or equivalent.

Figure 15:

The tri-lobe boot design inboard C.V. joint, which does not use a crimped metal can, remains at 170 grams (6.0 ounces). Refer to Figure 15.
