IGNITION SWITCH - WARNING BUZZER/CHIME WILL NOT SHUT OFF WHEN KEY IS REMOVED

Ignition key warning buzzer/chime that will not shut off when key is removed from the lock cylinder is caused by the key warning connector/switch not being completely engaged on the ignition lock cylinder housing.

Dealers encountering this concern should remove the ignition lock cylinder per Section 31-20 of the Shop Manual and check to make sure that the connector/ switch is properly installed. (Locking finger of connector completely over locking ramp on housing.) See Figure 5A.
