This suspension is of the gas filled MacPherson strut type, Fig. 1. The strut top mount consists of a rubber insulated bearing and seat and coil spring insulator. The top mount is attached to the body side apron by three bolts. The lower part of the strut is mounted in the steering knuckle and is retained by a pinch bolt. A forged lower control arm is attached to the sub-frame and to the steering knuckle. A tension strut is connected to the lower control arm and to the forward part of the sub-frame.
