ISSUE: Harsh driveline "bump" or "jerk" may occur at low speed tip-in below 15 mph (24 km/h) or when braking just before the vehicle comes to a complete stop. The "bump" or "jerk" is a result of powertrain lash from a coast to drive condition while in low gear.

ACTION: Both conditions are characteristic of the 1986 and 1987 powertrain and are normal.

NOTE: Resetting of the throttle valve (TV) cable or engine idle speed will not eliminate this condition.
