A/T - AXOD No Movement Any Direction

SUBJECT: Ford AXOD

PROBLEM: No movement, any direction

CAUSE:
The low one-way clutch (sprag) may be installed backwards.

Many manuals are not showing the correct installation of the low one-way clutch.

Install sprag onto overdrive drum with lip UP.




The outer race (figure A) should be installed with the groove UP

When installed correctly, the outer race will lock clockwise, and freewheel counter-clockwise.
