Binds on the 1-2 Shift
A 1-2 bind-up concern can be caused by a missing or leaking "B3" checkball. The "B3" checkball is used to shuffle T.V. pressure and direct clutch pressure (in the manual low range) to be used for pressure regulator boost. A missing (or leaking) "B3" checkball will allow TV. pressure to apply the direct clutch.
The best way to avoid this problem is to use new checkballs and a reliable illustration that shows where the checkballs go.
Note
Never use the first design (bright orange) checkballs. The second design (brown) checkballs are less prone to wear. Ford part # E7DZ-7E195A.
