ISSUE: Exterior door mouldings that have a poor fit along the top edge may be caused by excessive flash on the sleeve retainers and the mouldings' upper flange length being too short.

ACTION: To correct this, install the new design sleeve retainers (E6DZ-54211A50-A) and spacer washers (E6DZ- 54209A12-A) using the following service procedure.

1. Remove the moulding from the door, Section 47-06-7 of the Taurus/Sable Shop Manual.

2. Remove the upper sleeve retainers from the door locations shown in Figure 1, View A and discard them.

3. Install the new design sleeve retainers (E6DZ- 54211A50-A).

4. Install a second spacer washer to the lower moulding retainer locations shown in Figure 1, View B along with the existing one.


5. Reinstall the door moulding.
