ISSUE: The front seat cushion side shield may damage clothing during occupant entry or exit of the vehicle. This may be caused by mold flash, or a burr, on the front corner of the side shield.

ACTION: To correct this, rework the front corner of the front seat cushion side shields using the following service procedure.

1. Remove the front seat cushion side shields. Refer to the 1986 or 1987 Taurus/Sable Shop Manual, Section 41-01.

2. Rework the front seat cushion side shields as shown in Figure 2.

NOTE: Remove all burrs after cutting away material from shields.


3. Reinstall the reworked front seat cushion side shields.
