NOISE - "RATTLE" - GLOVE COMPARTMENT AREA OF INSTRUMENT PANEL

FORD: 1986-89 TAURUS.

LINCOLN-MERCURY: 1986-89 SABLE

ISSUE: A "rattle" in the glove compartment area of the instrument panel may be caused by an A/C vacuum harness that is mis-routed or a right hand A/C side window demister hose that has come loose.

FIGURE 1:

ACTION: Make sure the vacuum harness has been routed as shown in Figure 1. Also make sure that the right hand demister hose has not come loose in the area behind the glove compartment.
