Power Seats - Inoperative

Article No. SEAT - POWER - INOPERATIVE -
87-3-5 WIRE/CONNECTORS PULLED OUT

FORD 1986 TAURUS

LINCOLN-MERCURY 1986 SABLE

ISSUE: Power seats may become inoperative if moved to the full forward position because the seat wire harness may be too short and the wiring connector pulls apart.

Figure 4:

ACTION: To correct this, install a new (jumper) wire harness (E6DZ-14C719-A driver's side and E6DZ-14C719-B passenger's side) between the seat connector and the 14A488 wire harness assembly to lengthen the harness travel, Figure 4. It is not necessary to remove either seat to install the jumper harness.
