ISSUE: Inadequate heater output during highway driving may be caused by insufficient cylinder head coolant flow which causes extreme coolant temperature changes.
ACTION: To correct this, install a new design thermostat (E73Z-8575-A) having an orifice in the valve poppet using the procedure outlined in Car Shop Manual, Volume E, Section 27-01.
