SUBJECT: Certain 1985 and 1986-Model California Tempo/Topaz vehicles equipped with 2.3L CFI engines and manual transmissions.

TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS



PARTS ORDERING:

Service parts required for this recall may be ordered through normal channels.
LABOR TIMES: Inspect the fuel injector build date and, if necessary, replace the injector, adjust the idle speed to specification, replace the exhaust system catalytic converter, prepare and attach an Authorized Modifications (Form FPS-8262) Decal.


When the Injector is NOT replaced 1.8 Hrs. Insert in Box "B" of Form 1864
(Include administrative allowance)

When the Injector is replaced 2.2 Hrs. Insert in Box "C" of Form 1864
(include administrative allowance)


Administrative Allowance (Additive to Above)

Administrative Allowance . . . . . . . . . 0.1 Hr.

The 0.1 hour administrative allowance must be added before inserting the total labor time in either Box "B" or "C" of the Form 1864.

SPECIAL CLAIM FORM PREPARATION: Refer to your Warranty and Policy Manual, Section 6.3, page 7.

REMOVED PARTS RETURN: Mutilate and scrap all removed parts.
