Aspirator: Description and Operation

The in-vehicle sensor is connected by a hose to the aspirator. The aspirator is designed to create a slight vacuum at its elbow when air from the blower motor flows through it. The in-vehicle sensor hose is connected to this elbow, resulting in air from the passenger compartment being pulled through the sensor grille and across the sensor. This allows the in-vehicle sensor to input a signal to the microprocessor based upon true in-vehicle air temperature.
